Our Staff
Long term Greensburg residents, Kristin and Lindsay came together through a shared passion for early childhood education. Kinder Learning Garten was born in 2018 from Kristin and Lindsay’s shared desire to provide the community with a high quality affordable preschool that focuses on the development of kindergarten readiness skills. It is a dream come true to have created the preschool they hoped to find for their own children.

I am a proud graduate of the Greater Latrobe School District. I have a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education from Westminster College and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Edinboro University. I began my teaching career at Reynolds Elementary School in Transfer PA as a first grade teacher from 2006-2016.
A career change for my husband brought us to the area in 2016. My heart broke to leave my teaching position, but we felt called to move to Greensburg. I had dreamed of opening a preschool for many years which is why I focused on early childhood education for my masters work. Little did I know the plans in store for me just a few short years after our relocation!
Our family resides in Unity Township. My husband, Phil, is a project manager for Cavcon Construction and my biggest supporter. Our children are ages 12, 9, 6, and four months. (And yes, that’s as beautifully and wonderfully chaotic as it sounds.) Our school age children have all attended kindergarten at GLSD, providing unique insight into expectations for children entering kindergarten. I’ve used this knowledge to inform how we grow and change our curriculum to prepare our preschoolers for today’s kindergarten experience.
My interests include cooking and baking, spending time outdoors, Pilates, and prioritizing time together as a family. My favorite foods are coffee (can that be a favorite food?) and chocolate.

Kristin Malie

I have three fantastic young adult children along with my husband of 25 years. We are life-long residence of Greensburg. Being a mother and educator has always been my dream.
I've earned my Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and Elementary Education Certification from Saint Vincent College. Throughout my work experiences, children have remained the core of my passion.
I have held various positions within Early Intervention including Case Manager, Independent Assessment Team, and Developmental Specialist for the birth to three population. I was fortunate to teach all grade levels, K-12 (with emergency certification). Additionally, I provided family and parent counseling, as a private contractor, for Children and Youth Services of Westmoreland County.
Finally, collaboratively with my friend and business partner, we were able to build on our life and work experiences to create a private preschool that accommodates various learning techniques were children find success. The past five years have been devoted to Kinder Learning Garten.
We are growing our team!
